Where’d we go?
Started in Woking Park, all the way out to Sutton Green and Jacobs Well.
We LOVED…
Being just outside of London but feeling like you are deep in the countryside!
We Struggled…
The long switch back from mile 4 to just after mile 7… corrr it dragged!
Why this Race…
It is a great escape for the London runner! Woking is only a 30 minute train journey from Clapham Junction and then you are plodding though the beautiful country side. Although the 3 mile long switch back is tough mentally it is great for spectators and also if you are competitive with other friends running as you can see how far in front/behind you they are.
Famous Faces…
Tony The Fridge! What a man! He has run 30marathons in 30days with a fridge on his back, amongst many other challenges. He ran this Surrey half marathon with said fridge on his back…all 42.5kg of it! At least he won’t get hungry…
Mid run Brainwave…
This race is almost the same distance as the trail on the way down the North side of The Grand Canyon…now we just have 9.5miles and 4,500ft incline to power through!
Number 1 Fan…
That has to go to my other half Daniel! He stood by himself in the freezing fog for the whole thing, and was waiting at the finish line with a chocolate milk shake. What are boyfriends for eh?
